The Holly Tree

Where all the roots come together

A Little About Me

I'm a bred and born Canadian happily married for almost eleven years, and a proud grandparent of two. My interests include - but are in no way limited to - blogging, camping, and nature and wildlife photography, and my favorite music genres are classic rock, easy listening, and new age. I also sing, and I even play a couple of musical instruments.

My life philosophy is pretty simple, I think: Treat people like you want to be treated. I believe that if more people lived this way, there wouldn't be so much fighting, hate, intolerance, and war.

I am a published author of three domestic violence booklets. I've been working on a fourth book, as well as my autobiography, for about ten years; I hope to have both projects completed within the next couple of years.

I am willingly owned by two very opinionated and personality-rich cats who make me laugh every day - sometimes, several times a day - and who teach me that the answer to all of life's problems is to take a nap. They're right, of course.

Birth of a Tree

I joined Bravenet back in 2004.  At that time, I knew almost nothing about blogging, and I didn't know what I wanted to achieve with a blog.  But, I gave it a shot, anyway, and The Holly Tree has been alive and thriving ever since.

A year later, after becoming more familiar with HTML, and after learning how to dress up the Tree journal, I decided to try my hand at building a website.  Using my love of the paranormal as my guide, I built a website - the site you see today was originally built on that premise.

This website has undergone a great many changes in the three years that I've been here, and I hope that it will continue to evolve into something exciting, inspiring, informative, and fun. This is a free website built as a back-up to my paid website (in the event that I can't continue paying for an ad-free site), but being the creative person that I am, I hope you will forget about the ads and just enjoy the content.

Thanks so much for visiting!

STUFF TO DO

Hmm. Not sure what I'll put here.  Maybe some links to fun stuff...

JUST STUFF

I'll think of something for this space...
